Datuk Ooi Woon Chee is our Independent Non-Executive Director. He was appointed to the Board on 26 May 2026.

Datuk Ooi Woon Chee is a qualified chartered accountant by profession, as well as a certified public accountant and licensed liquidator.

He joined KPMG PLT, Malaysia in 1987 and was made a partner in 1995. Prior to joining KPMG PLT, he worked in the audit department of another major accounting firm in Malaysia. Datuk Ooi was appointed as Special Administrator by the Malaysian national asset management company, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, over numerous public listed companies, stockbroking companies, and hotels and resorts, among others. Between 1990 and 1995, he assisted Bank Negara Malaysia to revive numerous abandoned housing projects in Peninsular Malaysia.

Datuk Ooi specializes in corporate turnaround and financial restructuring of under-performing companies. He has extensive experience in the field of insolvency practice such as liquidation and receivership. His experience includes advising on several high-profile engagements relating to debt restructuring between distressed companies and lenders, the administration of schemes of arrangement and the implementation of restructuring schemes across a diverse range of industries.

Datuk Ooi was a partner and headed the Restructuring and Insolvency Division in KPMG PLT prior to his retirement in December 2016. During his 29 years with KPMG PLT, he also served in various capacities, including as an Exco member, Governance Partner, Administration Partner, Ethics & Independence Partner, and Sports Club President. He was elected the President of Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia ("IPAM") in March 2017, a position which he held for two (2) years. Currently, he provides corporate advisory services and acts as an insolvency practitioner, as well as representing Malaysian Institute of Accountants ("MIA") on the panel of interviewers for liquidators' licence applications chaired by the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia.

He has been a Board member of DutaLand Berhad since 16 November 2020 and currently serves as Chairman of its Audit Committee.
